What is the main ingredient in Sleep-eze?
The main active ingredient in Sleep-eze is diphenhydramine hydrochloride, an antihistamine that acts as a nighttime sleep aide to help relieve occasional sleeplessness.

How does Sleep-eze work?
The main ingredient, diphenhydramine hydrochloride, works by blocking a natural chemical in your body called histamine. Histamine affects your sleep-wake cycle and cognitive (thinking) function so too much can keep you awake. By blocking histamine, you feel drowsy and may fall asleep faster and stay asleep.

Are Sleep-eze products gluten free?
While there are no gluten or wheat-based ingredients in Sleep-eze products, we cannot guarantee our sleep medicine is manufactured in a facility that does not also process wheat-based or gluten-containing items.

Do Sleep-eze sleep aids contain dye?
Sleep-eze® eze-freeTM liquid does not contain any dye or artificial colours.
All other Sleep-eze® products—Sleep-eze® eze-melts®, Sleep-eze® eze-liquidTM, and Sleep-eze® Extra Strength Minis, Extra Strength GelCaps, and Extra Strength Caplets do contain dye.

Do Sleep-eze sleep aids contain lactose?
Most Sleep-eze® products do not contain lactose. If you are lactose intolerant, you can use these lactose-free products: Sleep-eze® eze-freeTM liquid, Extra Strength GelCaps, Sleep-eze® eze-melts® and Sleep-eze® eze-liquidTM.
Sleep-eze® Extra Strength Minis, Extra Strength Caplets and Regular Strength Caplets contain lactose, so do not use if you are lactose intolerant.

Do Sleep-eze products contain sugar or artificial sweeteners?

- Sleep-eze® Extra Strength GelCaps contain sorbitol.

Do Sleep-eze liquid sleep aids contain alcohol?
Sleep-eze® eze-freeTM liquid contains no alcohol, dye or sucrose. Our other liquid product—berry-flavored Sleep-eze® eze-liquidTM—contains ethyl alcohol.

Are Sleep-eze products vegan?
While our products are not certified as vegan, Sleep-eze® products contain no animal-based ingredients. However, we cannot guarantee these products are manufactured in a facility that does not process animal byproducts

Can my elderly parent take Sleep-eze to help with sleeplessness?
Anyone over age 65 should use caution when taking Sleep-eze or any medicated or natural sleep aid, especially if they have any neurologic condition or confusion. Can I use Sleep-eze for allergies since the main ingredient is an antihistamine?
Great question! It’s true this ingredient is also used to reduce allergic reactions, but Sleep-eze is made specifically as a nighttime sleep aid so the dose and directions are typically different. Are animals used to test Sleep-eze?
No. We do not conduct animal testing for any of our products and would not unless a specific regulation required us to do so and no other alternative existed. At present, there is no such regulation for medicated sleep aids like Sleep-eze®.
